This season, the man behind the gowns was influenced by the statuesque figure of the Gibson girl from the late 19th century. She brought power, sex-appeal and modernity to an otherwise extremely romantic collection that cinched the waist with ornate or velvet belts and carefully placed embroidery, crystals, beading and lace, showering them across the bodice, hiding the bits that needed covering but leaving everything else open for visual entrancement.
