Across the road from the venue Vionnet had chosen for its first show in Milan rests Leonardo da Vinci’s The Last Supper. Equally stunning; the master artist, engineer, and futurologist probably ate several suppers—and sunk several inspirational glasses of wine—at the very spot where we saw this collection. Casa Degli Atellani is the site of a vineyard given to Da Vinci in 1498, and its connection to this collection was classification, one of Leonardo’s many manias.
