For Fall Winter 2017 the designer David Koma looks to the stars to navigate a new trajectory for Mugler Paris, one instilled with bold optimism and feminine grace. The collection regales in masculine tailoring and graphic plissé, transforming the precious legacy of house codes into contemporary statements. Deconstructed constellations contour the body in contrasts of black and white, meteoric orange, acid green, shale, and tonic blue.

A peaked shoulder crystallises the iconic Mugler silhouette, re-proportioned for 2017 in a swooping skyward arc on hourglass blazers, gilets, and sparkling cocktail dresses. It sets the scene for a multitude of daring silhouettes – from sculptural wool second skin dresses to gazar blouses that fold effortlessly into a boxy sleeve. Graphic evening dresses are paneled with swathes of lurex plissé whilst miniskirts and slim trousers are encrusted with a degradé of bugle beads. Sharp suit jackets metal shoulders inject tuxedo dressing with Mugler’s sophisticated allure.
